Media Release

Paramaribo, Suriname May 07, 2024: Republic Bank (Suriname) N.V. confirms to its customers that, due to industrial actions by our CLA staff, there has been some interruption of services at various branches from Friday, May 3, 2024 to this date. Some customers also experienced discomfort this morning at the Head Office, Kerkplein #01, when entering the branch. Both internal and external customers wanted to enter the branch at the exact moment. The internal customers consisted mainly of the Bank's CLA staff conducting Industrial Actions.

We have also observed that inaccurate information is being shared through various media channels. At the initiative of the Bank, the union's board was advised to start negotiations for a new collective labor agreement in November 2023. However, these did not take place until February 2024. We deeply regret the incorrect information and the treatment that this action entails.

Republic Bank wishes to emphasize that it always has the best intentions for its employees.

Furthermore, we would like to thank our customers for their patience and understanding, especially those who have experienced inconvenience due to the temporary closure of their branch.

We would also like to thank the many loyal and dedicated employees who are committed to ensuring that our customers are served and who do their utmost to limit customer inconvenience. Their dedication and commitment is highly appreciated.

We are doing everything in our power to limit the inconvenience by giving you the opportunity to visit some of the Bank's offices. We strongly emphasize here our commitment to provide you with excellent service at all times.
