Free Rental Car Insurance
Free Auto Rental Insurance worldwide for the Collision Damage Waiver (CDW/LDW) Insurance.
The Rental Car Insurance provided by your Republic Bank International Visa Gold Credit Card covers up to the full actual value, the cost of repair or replacement of a rental vehicle that has been damaged due to collision or has been stolen while in the cardholder’s possession in any part of the Americas and the Caribbean. Specifically, the insurance covers the following:

  • Damage due to collision, theft and theft-related charges, malicious vandalism charges. All you do is pay for the entire rental transaction with your Republic Bank International Visa Gold Credit Card and decline the auto rental company’s Collision Damage Waiver (CDW/LDW) option.

Emergency Cash Delivery
If your Republic Bank International Visa Gold Credit Card is lost or stolen and you need funds before the card is replaced, the Visa Assistance Centre will arrange for the prompt delivery of emergency cash directly to you, almost anywhere in the world.

Emergency Card Replacement
If your card has been lost, stolen or damaged anywhere in the world, one call to our toll-free number will replace it, usually within 24 hours in North America, or two business days when you are travelling elsewhere.

Emergency Medical Assistance
When you hold a Republic Bank International Visa Gold Credit Card, emergency services are just a phone call away. So you have the security of knowing that prompt medical help is available.

Legal Referral Assistance
Customs and regulations vary greatly from country to country. So when you need legal help in resolving a problem, the Visa Assistance Centre will help to put you in touch with legal assistance through local attorneys or your embassy. Until you have made your legal arrangements, and upon request thereafter, the Centre will maintain communication with you, your family, and your business associates. Services include:

  • Worldwide referral assistance in locating an English or Dutch speaking attorney.
  • Emergency Ticket Replacement This service assists you in replacing lost or stolen tickets by booking emergency tickets for airport or terminal pickup, or for delivery to your location.

Lost Luggage Assistance
If your luggage is lost while you are travelling, and the carrier is unable to locate it after a reasonable amount of time, the Visa Assistance Centre will assist the cardholder in coordinating with the airline to track the lost luggage. The Centre will also assist you in obtaining reimbursement from any applicable carrier insurance.

Emergency Message Service
The Visa Assistance Centre provides a toll-free 24-hour telephone service for Republic Bank International Visa Gold Credit Card travelers to record and receive emergency messages.

Pre-Trip Planning
To make your travel as trouble-free as possible, call the Visa Assistance Centre toll-free for the most current exchange rates, up-to-the-minute weather forecasts and passport/visa information, travel advisories, health precautions and required immunizations.
For cardholders with special medical needs, the Visa Assistance Centre can assist with making local arrangements for medical equipment and supplies, and in locating medical facilities prior to your trip.

Delivery of Valuable Documents
The Visa Assistance Centre will help to replace documents for cardholder at cardholder’s expense.

No interest will be payable on any amounts debited to the credit card account if the outstanding balance is paid in full by the payment due date shown on the principal cardholder's current billing statement. Payment must be paid in full by the payment due date for two consecutive billing statements.

Copies of two (2) forms of valid photographic identification - Passport, National Identification Card
Job letter (original- not older than 3 months) and copy of pay slip
Self employed - up to date financial statements

TIP #2: Manage your payments

Pay your credit card bill by the payment due date to avoid paying unnecessary late fees. You can use RepublicOnline or RepublicMobile or SMS Banking to ensure you pay on time. These are services that are available to our Republic Bank accountholders.

TIP #3: Track your spending

Diligently monitoring your credit card transactions will make you less susceptible to fraud. Always ensure that all transactions noted on your statement are correct. Look at the new charges and match all transactions with your receipts. Make sure your last payment was recorded correctly. You can track your spending anywhere, anytime with RepublicOnline and RepublicMobile.

TIP #4: Treat your card as if it were cash

Your credit card should never be left out of your sight! Be sure to ask the waiters at your favourite restaurants if they have a wireless credit card terminal so that you can settle your bill right at the table with speed and ease, as well as eliminate possible fraudulent ‘skimming’ opportunities. If the restaurant does not have a wireless terminal, be sure to accompany the sales representative to the terminal area to complete the transaction.

TIP #5: Credit card limit increase

If you require an increase in your credit limit to cater for vacation, personal or even home expenses, simply go into any one of our branches. Be sure to apply early to ensure that your limit increase can be processed in time for when it is needed.

TIP #6: Vacation/business travel
  • Before you travel, always ensure you visit the Visa Benefits website to ensure that you are familiar with the benefits that your Republic Bank Credit Card has to offer. Go to https://visabenefitslac.axa-assistance.us/ and select the ‘your card’ tab to enter the first 6 digits of your card number to see the specific benefits attached to your card.
  • Be sure to use your Republic Bank Credit Card to make your travel bookings such as airfare and hotel accommodation.   • Always note your credit card account number, the Republic Bank 24 hours service number and the Visa Assistance number that are located on the reverse of your card. Store the numbers in a safe place, in the event that your credit card is lost or stolen you can contact the relevant assistance centres.
TIP #7: Phishing-Internet scams

Be suspicious of unsolicited emails that appear to have originated from your bank, asking you to verify personal or financial information. The email can also appear as an offer of rewards requesting that you provide your credit card account information in order for the rewards to be processed. Republic Bank will never send you an email or SMS requesting personal information, so kindly disregard these types of messages (emails & SMS).
