On December 13, 2017, Republic Bank Suriname proudly launched its Power to Make A Difference programme for 2018. With this annual programme, the Bank commits to its Corporate Social Responsibility and aims to enhance the quality of life for our current and next generations.
“By working together, we were able to set the tone, pace, and even the standard for what Republic Bank is here to accomplish; building this beautiful nation and its communities into a more successful and sustainable society. I’m pleased to share that now we successfully move on to year three of the program.” says Managing Director of the Bank, Gloria Anthony.
The organizations and projects the Bank will support in 2018 are:
Elderly Home Ashiana: the renovation and upgrade of the 11 restroom areas of the home;
Foundation Mytyl school: the introduction of an improved education system, whereby the specific educational needs of the disabled children will be met
Foundation Child and Youth Telephone Line: increase the awareness of the Child & Youth telephone line, amongst both children and adults, to stimulate reporting of child abuse
Foundation Sprint2Tokyo: contribute to let the Surinamese cycling talent, Jair Tjon En Fa, participate in the Olympics 2020.
The organizations are all very delighted with this support and collaboration. “We can now finally realize one of our dreams, for the benefit of the development of our children”, says Joan Voight, Vice-Chairman of the Mytyl school, the only school for disabled children in Suriname.
